How to Grind Weed Properly

Wondering how to grind weed properly? Getting your herb ground properly is essential for a decent hit, whether you prefer blunts, pipes or bongs. Grind too finely, and you will have resin build up on the inside of the pipe. Grind too coarsely, and you will be coughing up harsh smoke. The simplest way to get the balance is to practice. The more you grind weed, the easier it will be to get herb that is ground perfectly.

The Right Way to Grind Weed

To start practising, you first need to know the basics. Here are some things to keep in mind when you grind weed.

Stop grinding by hand

First, stop grinding by hand. Unless you have been grinding for a while, it can waste a lot of time trying to get an even grind using your fingers. You will need to remove seeds and access flower and get your herb to the right consistency. Besides taking a long time, grinding by hand is also messy. You’ll get a lot of resin on your fingers (never fun). Using a grinder cuts out a lot of the work and gives you perfectly ground weed in the process.

Use a decent grinder

It is worth spending a little extra to get agood quality grinder. Even the more advanced 3-part grinders won’t set you too much cost-wise. Choosing one that has a kief catcher will allow you to get a really good smoke. Grinders come in a variety of styles, fromwooden grinders toacrylic andmetal. Metal grinders are easy to clean and will last a long time, so they’re a good choice if you want to spend a little extra.

Load your herb and grind

Now, it’s time to load up the grinder. Break apart larger nugs and distribute them evenly around the teeth of the grinder. Stay clear of the centre part as this bit is what powers the grinder mechanism. Once it’s loaded, close the lid of the grinder and make sure it’s secure. Gently give it a few twists (start with around 7 to 10) until you feel less resistance. You will get to know how many twists it takes as you practice using the grinder. From there, hold the base and carefully remove the top 2 chambers. If your grinder has a kief catcher, you can remove this chamber then carefully remove the granulated kief.

From there, you’ll be all sorted to use your herb. Puff offers a range of high-quality weed grinders that will give you a perfect grind, every time.
